Little Big Brands Helps Lion Brewery “Restore The Roar”
Nyack, NY – The Lion Brewery, one of the oldest remaining breweries in Pennsylvania, is poised for growth after tapping Little Big Brands to overhaul their signature Lionshead and Stegmaier brands, as well as the brewery identity.
Lionshead beer, a popular beverage in the Pennsylvania college scene received a complete packaging makeover with authentic graphics, tongue-in-cheek neck labels and “paw holes” on the six-pack. Higher quality materials were sourced, while considering environmental impacts. The smaller labels, which use 40 percent less paper than previous labels, and unbleached kraft stock for baskets and cartons is truly something to roar about.
“Lionshead was just good fun to work on. It’s a brand that doesn’t take itself too seriously and lends itself to creative thinking,” said John Nunziato, creative director, Little Big Brands.
Charles Stegmaier established the Stegmaier brand in 1857, and the Stegmaier Brewery was once one of the largest independent breweries in America. When the brewery closed in the 70s, and the beer began trading hands, the brand image took a nosedive. Little Big was tasked with creating something that Charles would be proud of and finally get this brand back on track. A serious identity upgrade and high quality materials and printing were at the heart of the upgrade.
“Stegmaier has such a rich tradition but the packaging no longer reflected that,” said Nunziato. “Hopefully, Charles is looking down on us, raising a pint.”
